Refund Policy
1. Overview
Bioscience Insights aims to provide a seamless publication experience for authors and contributors. This Refund Policy outlines the conditions under which a refund may be granted, ensuring clarity and transparency regarding submission fees, publication charges, and other related payments.
2. Submission Fees
Bioscience Insights may charge authors submission fees during the manuscript submission process. Once the manuscript is successfully submitted and enters the editorial or review process, the submission fee is non-refundable, regardless of the editorial outcome (acceptance, revision, or rejection).
3. Publication Fees
Upon acceptance of a manuscript, authors may be required to pay article processing charges (APCs) or other publication-related fees. Once the article is accepted for publication, these fees become non-refundable. Authors are encouraged to ensure that all relevant fees are understood and agreed upon prior to manuscript submission.
4. Withdrawal of Manuscript
If an author decides to withdraw their manuscript:
- Before Peer Review: If the manuscript is withdrawn before the peer review process begins, authors may request a refund of the submission fee (if applicable), minus any administrative costs incurred.
- After Peer Review Has Begun: If the manuscript is withdrawn after peer review has started but before acceptance, no refund of the submission fee or publication charges will be issued.
- After Acceptance: Once a manuscript is accepted for publication, the fees paid for submission or publication are non-refundable.
5. Article Rejection
In the case of article rejection following peer review, no refund will be provided for any submission or processing fees. Rejections may occur due to scientific or methodological issues, failure to meet the journal’s standards, or ethical concerns.
6. Exceptional Circumstances
In exceptional cases, such as an administrative error by the journal or overcharging, a refund may be issued. This will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, and the editorial team will handle such requests in a fair and reasonable manner.
7. Refund Process
Refund requests must be submitted in writing to the editorial office. The request should include a valid reason and any necessary documentation (if applicable). Once the refund is approved, it will be processed within 30 days. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method.
8. Non-refundable Items
The following charges are non-refundable:
- Any processing fees associated with manuscript submission and publication.
- Charges for supplementary services such as expedited peer review, open access fees, and additional copies of the article.
9. Author Responsibility
Authors are encouraged to carefully review all fees before submitting their manuscript to avoid any misunderstandings or disputes. By submitting a manuscript, authors agree to the terms of this refund policy.
